Opal "Bernice" Lamb

FARMER CITY - Opal "Bernice" Lamb, 99, gained her wings on Thursday (Aug. 1, 2024) at Reflections Memory Care, Savoy. She was stricken by pneumonia just three months shy of her 100th birthday, which would have taken place this Halloween.Bernice lived a full and prolific life where she was loved by all, and will always be remembered as an incredible mother, grandmother, aunt, wife and friend to many. She remained in Farmer City all of her life, spending winters in Mesa, Ariz., for over 35 years. After her five children were grown, she took great ownership of her work at Mason's Drug Store, where in her heart she truly believed she was the CEO. She had a smile that lit up a room, a great sense of humor and an unforgettable laugh with many inside jokes. Those closest to her knew her as "Sis" or "Toad." Bernice walked many miles a day until very late in life and was a trophy-winning bowler and shuffleboard player. She was an avid reader and solver of crossword puzzles.Bernice was born on
